Meet Hercules!
Hercules was designed and built to be simple, flexible, strategic, and reliable.

Attributes of Hercules:

The Hercules is simple because it:
  • only uses three motors
  • is lightweight and compact
  • uses one motor for multiple arms
The Hercules is flexible because it:
  • has a re-locatable microcontroller and battery
  • allow for simultaneous gathering of game pieces
  • allows for additional assemblies and functions
The Hercules is strategic because it:
  • supports re-configuration
  • balances speed and power
  • controls and maneuvers easily
The Hercules is reliable because it:
  • minimizes number of moving parts;
  • uses a machined aluminum wheel mount;
  • has both physical and CORTEX controlled stops.
Click on the video below to see an actual match from the 2010 TVBEST Competition. Winning 1st place for our Engineering Notebook put Trobotics, Inc in this “Wild Card Round”. You will not be able to see Hercules (our robot) on this video because our team is on the opposite side of the playing field. But, you will get an idea of what the competition was like.
 

Trobotics, Inc. believes in the importance of teaching others about BEST Robotics and STEM related activities. To do this, we plan outreach activities and events in which we showcase our BEST robot. These events and activities take place throughout our community, in other schools, and at our own school. We have been successful in generating interest and getting them involved with hands-on experience using science, technology, engineering, and math.

Below you can read about some of the outreach events and activities we have participated in during this year.
 

  • In 2009, we set up the playing field and a booth at the school’s Fall Festival. We displayed information about BEST and allowed students and people from the community to drive our robot.
  • Co-hosted a SolidWorks Training seminar on August 21, 2010 at Calhoun Community College to help other schools.
  • Advertised on the school website and school newsletter

  • On October 22, 2010 we set up the “Total Recall” playing field and a booth at the Fall Festival. We set up a booth to display information about BEST, handed out student recruiting flyers, and allowed students and people from the community to drive our robot.
